MURDER
FIRST DEGREE MURDER CHARGE DISMISSED
Commonwealth v. E.V., Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for Prince William County, Virginia.
A 14 year old boy, E.V. was charged as an adult with First Degree Murder and Malicious Wounding after stabbing one youth and killing another during a fight the police believed to be gang related. After considering the information uncovered by Mr. Amolsch's extensive independent investigation, the government agreed to dismiss the first-degree murder charge. Facing life in prison without the possibility of parole if tried as an adult, E.V. instead pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter as a juvenile. As a result, E.V. remained in the juvenile system and did not spend a single day in the adulyt system or with adult prisoners. In addition, E.V. does not have an adult criminal record and his juvenile records will remain sealed.
