PROBATION FOR McDONALD'S MILLIONAIRE GAME FRAUD
United States v. S. B., United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida at Jacksonville.
Mr. S.B. pleaded guilty to Conspiring to Defraud McDonalds Corporation by purchasing the winning million dollar game ticket in the McDonald's Monopoly contest from an inside source. Though his sentencing guidelines called for a sentence of almost 2 years, Mr. Amolsch argued that Mr. S.B.'s poor health, family circumstances and acceptance of responsibility called for a sentence of probation. After considering these and other arguments, Mr. S.B. received a sentence of probation, almost 2 years less than called for by the Sentencing Guidelines.
